Kumaraswamy Sanjeevimalai

Kumaraswamy Sanjeevimalai is an east-facing Hill Temple that is reached by climbing well-laid-out steps. On the way up is a natural water storage pond that has been modified to store rainwater. Upon reaching the top the weapon of Lord Muruga, Vel, is installed as a carving on stone. The sanctum sanctorum is surrounded by the shrines of the deities mentioned above. There is a rock crevice with a carving of Vishnu’s symbol Naamam on it. There is a deep well with water at the bottom which is the Theertham of the temple. On one of the sides is another water storage tank. At the top of the hill is a circular shrine with a domed top for Anjaneya and a stone dwajasthambam on one side which also has a carving of Anjaneya. There are no steps to reach this shrine and a climb through bushes is involved. The temple is open only on Tuesdays and Fridays in the mornings. The climb and the views from the top are very good.
