Thirukaleeswarar Panaiyur is a small east facing temple without a compound wall. The Nandi faces the main deity through a small closed door. A stone Dwajasthambam is before the Nandi. The sanctum sanctorum is entered from the south facing the Goddess. The main deity is a large Lingam. There is a temple pond east of the temple. A massive banyan tree is outside to the west of the temple with a Vinayaka idol installed below. To the south of the tree is an old temple for Panayathamman.

Thirukaleeswarar Panaiyur is 22 Kilometers west of Cheyyar in the Aarani Road taking off north of Cheyyar and before the Cheyyar River. At 21 kilometers and after crossing Mambakkam, take a right to reach Thirukaleeswarar Panaiyur. Drive ahead inside the Perumal temple road which is almost on the road.
