Varadaraja Perumal Korukkai is a small east-facing temple with a single Prakaram entered through a gate at the east. The beautiful little temple is in a clean, paved Prakaram and safely enclosed with a compound wall. A tall and nice Sanctum Sanctorum has been built up and the campus has been planted with flowering plants and shade-giving trees. The area was said to have had a lot of Vilwam Trees in the ancient past.

Varadaraja Perumal Korukkai was a large and important temple once upon a time with many shrines. A few years back it had been reduced to nothing more than a small shed-like shrine with a Dwajasthambam. Locals and a few well-wishers from outside got together along with publicity from niche media and the temple has arisen to its present state.
