Azhagiya Manavala Perumal Kayalpattinam is a small east facing temple with a single Prakaram. There are separate shrines for goddesses Sreedevi and Bhoodevi in the southeast and northwest corner of the Prakaram respectively. There are indications of an outer Prakaram looking at the balipeedam and mandapam outside, but it does not exist now. The entrance gate leads into a mandapam followed by the Maha Mandapam and an Ardha Mandapam before the sanctum sanctorum of the main deity. The main deity is in a standing posture with his consorts.
