Aadavalleeswarar Perunkurichi is an east-facing temple with two entrance gateways on the east side. One is facing Lord Shiva and the other Lord Karia Perumal. The temple is situated in a single large and beautifully paved prakaram. A Nandi faces lord Shiva from a Mandapam. There is a common Mahamandapam for the east-facing Shiva and the south-facing Goddess. The main deity’s sanctum sanctorum has an Ardha mandapam before it. The exit from the maha mandapam is through a small door on the south side. On the south side of the main deity’s sanctum is the shrine of Kariya Perumal. Garuda in a small mandapam is in front of an open Mandapam which is before the shrine of Kariya Perumal who is seen with his consorts Bhama and Rukmini. A shrine for Anjaneya is behind. Around the prakaram are the shrines of the other deities. Outside, on the northeast side is a temple for Mariamman and on the opposite side is a temple for Pon Kaliamman.
