Ekambareswarar Alavaipatti is an east-facing temple situated in a single open Prakaram. A Tulsi Maadam and Nandi Mandapam are in front. The Nandi is a beautiful old one. There is a mandapam in front of the Ardha Mandapam and Sanctum Sanctorum. This Mandapam in front has 24 pillars and also has the Navagraha installation on the north side. The ceiling of the mandapam has some nice fish symbol carvings. There are two Vinayaka idols before the Ardha Mandapam. The main deity is about 3 feet tall including the base and has a Naga Armor around and on top. The goddess shrine is separate facing east, with a 12 pillared mandapam in front. An idol of Perumal with his consorts Sreedevi and Bhoodevi are outside the goddess shrine. The goddess is about 4 feet tall including the pedestal and is in a standing posture. There are several beautiful idols lying about all around the prakaram.

On the road going towards Salem from Rasipuram take the left towards the west at Attyampatti junction and proceed for about 7 kilometers and then take a left towards the south to reach Ekambareswarar Alavaipatti which is about a kilometer away.
