Eachanari Vinayakar, facing east
Gajalakshmi, Muruga
Eachanari Vinayagar is a small and important east facing temple. A 3 tier Rajagopuram welcomes you as you enter. The deity here is quite large in size. The lord adorns a different decoration for each celestial star day. The golden chariot for Vinayaka here is the first for Ganesha in Tamilnadu. Initially built as a small temple and recently expanded to its current size.

Eachanari Vinayagar is a few centuries old. In recent times (1970’s) the small temple was built up extensively and beautifully by Dr.N.Mahalingam
An idol of Vinayaga, being transported by bullock cart to Perur Temple for installation, was stranded here because the wheel broke down. The idol was kept here and could not be moved later even after immense efforts. Hence the Eachanari Vinayagar temple was built in the same spot.
Situated right on the Coimbatore-pollachi main road, Eachanari is 14 kilometers from Coimbatore.
A decent vegetarian restaurant is available just opposite the temple
