Aadhikesava Perumal Koovathur is a large and spacious temple with an entrance gateway in the east. Opposite and facing the main temple is the smaller temple of Baktha Anjaneya. As you enter the stone Dwajasthambam is seen with the Namam, Sangu, Chakra, and Garuda carved in the base on four sides. On the left are shrines for Ganesha, Vishnu Durga, and Chakrathazhwar. Vinayaka is seen at the entrance to the Sanctum Sanctorum along with Kalinga Narthana. Garuda with a beautiful armor in a small shrine is seen facing the Lord. The idol of the main deity Aadhikesava Perumal is 7 feet tall and looks beautiful. The goddess is about 4 feet tall and in a sitting posture. There are 7 wells representing the holy rivers Ganga, Yamuna, Saraswathi, Godavari, Narmada, Tungabadra and Cauvery. The Well, representing river Sarayu is in the Shrine of Baktha Anjaneya. A large Thulasi Maadam (Holy Basil) is seen in front of the shrines.

Aadhikesava Perumal Koovathur is about 4 kilometers after crossing the Paalar river bridge on the ECR while going from Chennai. The Thiruvaleeswarar temple is visible from a distance and is right on the road. Turn here, drive south and again turn right to reach Aadhikesava Perumal Koovathur.
