Bhoothapureeswarar Sivanthangal is an east facing temple with scattered shrines around the main Sanctum Sanctorum. All the shrines are newly built with new looking idols. The Shiva Lingam is big and alone looks old. A group of four Neem trees are seen growing together and have been revered as representing the 4 four great saints of Saivism (Naalvar). There is a Snake Mound north of the shrines.
