Venkatachalapathi Melapattam is a small east facing temple with two Prakarams. The inner prakaram is covered on top. A Mahamandapam and Ardhamandapam lead to the Sanctum Sanctorum. The renovation work had just been completed when we visited.

Venkatachalapathi Melapattam is about 9 kilometers northeast of Tirunelveli. Enter the Seevalaperi Road from the bypass and at about 1.5 kilometers from there take the Melapattam Road that forks off on the left to reach the Venkatachalapathi Melapattam temple.
