Azhagarswamy Seevalaperi is an east-facing temple that had dilapidated in large parts but has been renovated recently. A 16 pillared Mandapam is outside the entrance gateway Mandapam. The outer Prakaram is overgrown with weeds. The inner prakaram is entered through a long corridor mandapam which has about 20 huge nicely carved pillars. The mahamantapam, ardha mandapam, and antralaya lead into the Sanctum Sanctorum of the lord who is seen with his consorts. The utsavar here is Sundararaja Perumal with Sreedevi and Bhoodevi. The inner prakaram and the circumambulatory corridor has cloistered mandapams in the sides and is covered on top. Azhagarswamy Seevalaperi is situated near the confluence of the Chithar River with Tamiraparani on the northern banks. Nearby is the popular Sudalai Madaswamy temple.
