Varadaraja Perumal Singikulam is a small east-facing temple with an entrance gateway in the east. The beautiful Sanctum Sanctorum is situated in a single spacious, paved, and well-maintained prakaram. A Maha Mandapam and Ardha Mandapam lead to the Sanctum Sanctorum. The temple has been renovated in recent times. The Pachai River which comes from the slopes of the Western Ghats runs behind the temple.

Varadaraja Perumal Singikulam is about 25 kilometers southwest of Tirunelveli via National Highway 44 to Kanyakumari. Take a right at Pannankulam and go for 7 kilometers taking the PSN College Road to reach the temple. You can also reach from Tirunelveli via Tharuvai which is about the same distance as the other route. There is a Shiva temple in front. You have to park your vehicle on the main road and take the footbridge across the river to reach both temples.
