A mandapam is before the Rajagopuram. On either side of the entrance in the Rajagopuram are beautiful ornamental carvings of a lady and smaller images of Lord Vishnu in his Dasavatar. The temple is situated in a single prakaram. Straight ahead of the Rajagopuram is a Balipeedam and Flagstaff followed by the Mahamandapam, Ardha Mandapam, and the sanctum sanctorum of the main deity. There are two large Dwarapalakas on either side of the entrance to the Ardha Mandapam. The Lord is seen sitting with goddess Mahalakshmi on his lap in the sanctum sanctorum. On the south side of the sanctum sanctorum is the separate east-facing shrine of Goddess Mahalakshmi.
