Varadaraja Perumal Venkarai is a small east-facing temple with a stone Dwajasthambam outside. A single narrow prakaram goes around the sanctum sanctorum of the main deity who is seen standing with his consorts Sreedevi and Bhoodevi. Two new, beautiful concrete idols of Dwarapalakas, Jayan and Vijayam, are at the entrance to the Ardha Mandapam. The Cauvery River flows a little way to the southeast of Varadaraja Perumal Venkarai. Towards the river is a Shiva temple that is on a small elevation and survived the floods.
