Agasteeswarar, Senthamangalam is an ancient temple that has been renovated in recent times. There are 2 Shivalingams here. This small temple was in bad shape till some time back. There is a small pond on the south side of the temple.

Legend

Sage Agasteeswara is believed to have installed the Lingam here at Agasteeswarar, Senthamangalam. Due to the delayed arrival of his disciples who had been sent to bring a Lingam, the great sage started his worship with Vilwam leaves and a Lingam is believed to have appeared on its own. The second Lingam brought by the disciples is installed outside the sanctum sanctorum.

Directions

Agasteeswarar, Senthamangalam is about 10 kilometers west of Pudukottai on the road going to Manapparai. Take a left after Peraiyur to reach the temple.
