Agameswarar, Pilamangalam is a an old east facing temple with 2 Prakarams. The outer one is open and the inner one is partly covered enclosing all the shrines. The pillars in the mantapam around the inner prakaram are all beautifully carved. The ceiling has some recently painted murals. The walls around the sanctum sanctorum are beautifully carved. The temple has a lot of trees and is a very peaceful place. A temple tank is on the south east side outside the entrance. Nearby is another tank attached to the Ponnalagi Amman Temple.
