Prasanna Venkatesa Perumal Kotturpuram is a small and beautiful temple situated in a very congested locality near the Adyar River. The temple has been painted and the Prakaram is nicely paved. The entrance is through a gate that leads through a wide passage into the temple. Anjaneya has a separate shrine facing the main deity outside the temple. Adjacent to this shrine is kept a Shiva Lingam which was discovered inside the Perumal Temple. They have named this idol Koteeswarar after the locality. The Parvati idol’s head broke off and a new idol has been commissioned.

A stone inscription found here has been analyzed by the Archaeological Department and they are of the opinion that it goes back more than 900 years.
