Temple – This is an east facing temple with a 5 tier Rajagopuram and a large temple tank. Tirugnanasambandar and Tirunavukkarasar have rendered thevaram hymns to the lord here at Cuddalore Padaleeswarar Temple

Holy water (Theertham) – Brahma Theertham, Gedilam River, Sivakaratheertham (Temple Tank)

Sacred Tree (Sthala Vriksham) – Padiri, flowers but does not yield fruit (Stereospermum colais)

Mythology

Goddess Parvati is said to have undertaken a penance under a Padiri Tree and wed the Lord here. Saint Mangana is said to have worshipped here to relieve himself of his rabbit form. Tirunavukkarasar was thrown into the sea with a stone tied to him –with the grace of the lord he is said to have floated to the shore here.
