Aadigunareswarar Thiruvadigai is open on the sides with a entrance gateway. There are some old idols present which are awaiting their shrines to be built. A beautiful tall Lingam is in the open. The Vimaanaas of the main deities are tall and there are separate shrines for Ganesha, Muruga, Chandikeswara and Navagraha. A ganesha shrine is also found before the entrance.

Aadigunareswarar Thiruvadigai was built by King Mahendra Pallavan repenting for the sins he committed upon the great Saivite Saint Thirunavukkarasar in the 7th century CE.
