Vedanarayana Perumal Valayamadevi is a grand old temple with a 3 tier rajagopuram and high walls. The sanctum sanctorum is on a high solid base. A monolith Dwajasthambam (lamp mast) is seen outside the entrance. Vedanarayana Perumal Valayamadevi temple has a legend connecting it with the Srimushnam temple (see legend section below).
