History

Tirumangaiazhwar (One of the 12 Alwars – 7th to 10th Centuries CE) has sung hymns of Divya Prabhandham here at Arimeya Vinnagaram Thirunangoor in praise of the Lord.

Legend

Perumal is said to have voluntarily come to the aid of Udhanga Maharishi here at Arimeya Vinnagaram Thirunangoor when he was troubled by bad elements in his unstinted service to the lord without once requesting for help against the evil forces.
