Thiruvali Thirunagari Thirunangoor are two temples which have been considered as one temple and sung upon by the Alwars. This is one of the Five important Lakshmi Narasimha Kshetras. The Thirunangoor temples also form the 11 temples where all the Utsavars come together for the annual Garuda Seva ritual. Unlike other temples where the Dwajasthambam faces the lord here it faces the shrine of Thirumangaiazhwar.
Holy water (Theertham) – Ilashani Pushkarini
Vimaanam – Ashtakshara Vimaanam
Tirumangaiazhwar (One of the 12 Alwars – 7th to 10th Centuries CE) and others have sung hymns of Divya Prabhandham here at Thiruvali Thirunagari Thirunangoor in praise of the Lord.
The lord after killing Hiranyakashibu in his Narasimha Avatar is said to have made to cool down by the goddess here at Thiruvali Thirunagari Thirunangoor. Thirumangaiazhwar is said to have waylaid the lord, repented for the mistake and received the lord’s blessing and advise here at Thiruvali Thirunagari Thirunangoor.
Thiruvali Thirunagari Thirunangoor temples are not in the same area as the other Thirunangoor temples and you have to take a separate north east route from Annan Perumal Temple. They are not close to each other. First you reach Thiruvali and you have to drive on to Thirunagari. Refer the map below for exact route and locations. We have numbered them here based on a route perspective and not from temple importance.
None locally except tea and snack shops. Closest is Sirkazhi.
