Nagapattinam Other Temples

Lord Shiva is beleived to have married Goddess Parvati here and the annual re-enaction of this event is famous, attracting large crowds from all over.

The Pandya Kings and the Royal Sethupathi Kings are said to have made many contributions to this temple although little is known about its History.

Piranmalai (Kodunkundram) Hill is believed to be a piece of Mount Meru taken when Vayu (Wind God) attempted to break it during a challenge with Aadhisesha.
