Thirukadaiyur Meignanam is a large west facing temple with a three tier Rajagopuram. The Theertham of this temple is carried everyday for the Abhishekam of the Thirukadavur Veerattam Temple deity. A large temple tank is on the South of the Temple.

History

Thirugnanasambandar, Thirunavukkarasar and Sundarar Thirugnanasambandar and Thirunavukkarasar (7th – 8th Century CE) have rendered Thevaram Hymns for the lord here at Thirukadaiyur Meignanam.

Legend

Lord Shiva is believed to have terminated Brahma’s time and again given life as a creator to him on the request of the Devas here at Thirukadaiyur Meignanam. Thirukadaiyur Meignanam is the 107th of the shrines worshiped by Sage Markandeya.

Directions

Thirukadaiyur Meignanam is about 25 Kilometers from Sirkazhi in the Tarangambadi (Tranquebar) Road. Reach Thirukadaiyur and take a left to go about two kilometers and around the Thirukadaiyur Veerattam temple to reach this temple.
