The original Renganadhar Vadarangam temple is on the banks of the adjoining Kollidam River, which was totally submerged some time ago. This is the new temple we see today. A small temple with entrance from the West. This is one of one of the Pancha Renga Kshetras, the others are Srirengapatnam, Srirangam, Appalarangam and Parimalarangam.

The old temple of Renganadhar Vadarangam had been submerged by Kollidam River about 85 years ago as it is near the riverbed. The new temple was built recently using the same deity.
Renganadhar Vadarangam is one of the Pancha Renga temples and considered nearly as holy as the other temples mentioned above.
Immediately after crossing the Kollidam River bridge after chidambaram and before Sirkazhi take a right to the Mathiravelur road and drive for about 7 Kilometers to reach Renganadhar Vadarangam Temple. Also visit the nearby Shiva temple.
