Vinayakar Marungoor is a small east-facing temple located in a narrow lane. The temple is situated in a single Prakaram. Lord Shiva in the form of a lingam is installed in a shrine on one side of the Sanctum Sanctorum of Lord Vinayaka. Lord Shiva’s consort Kalyani Amman is in another shrine in the front, facing south.

There is an inscription found here on the base of the sanctum sanctorum’s north side. As per these inscriptions and other evidence found elsewhere Vinayakar Marungoor was built by Sakalakala Marthanda Varman during his reign around 1405 CE.
