Murugan Kudumiyanmalai is on top of Kudumiyanmalai, the hill behind the famous Shiva Temple. The structure consists of a Maha Mandapam, Ardha Mandapam and the Sanctum Sanctorum. The main deity is in a standing posture. The temple is reached by climbing the flat rocks on the north side. A large lotus pond is at the base. A shrine of Amman is on the way up. Once the smooth and flat rocks are covered there is a flight of steps roughly carved out of the rock surface to reach the temple. The surrounding areas have slippery rocks on the hill’s edges are dangerous.
