Badhrakali Amman Mecheri is a north-facing temple with a 5 tiered Rajagopuram at the entrance in the north. Before the gopuram is a mandapam and shops. Badhrakali Amman Mecheri is situated in a single beautiful, clean, and well-maintained prakaram. Apart from the Rajagopuram, there are three 3 tiered gopurams in the cardinal directions of east, south, and west which are kept closed normally. A maha mandapam is in front of the Sanctum Sanctorum of the main deity. The goddess here at Badhrakali Amman Mecheri is seen in an aggressive standing position with eight hands holding different weapons, blessing the devotees, and with a slain demon lying below her legs.

Badhrakali Amman Mecheri is an old temple said to have been originally built by the local kings about 800 years ago. Historical information is not available as of now.
