Chokkanadar Thuraimangalam is a small but spacious temple. The temple is east facing with a small entrance gate. An old idol of Arumuga on peacock is awaiting installation. The Vimaanas are all in need of attention though the temple itself seems to be well cared for.

History

There are some ancient stone inscriptions seen on the sanctum walls of Chokkanadar Thuraimangalam. From this the temple can be estimated to be atleast about 500- 800 years old.

Chokkanadar Thuraimangalam is in Thuraimangalam as you enter for Perambalur from the National Highway. After just about 250 meters take a left and drive for about 150 meters to reach Chokkanadar Perambalur.

Stay and Food

A couple of decent restaurants are available in Perambalur, one inside town near the old bus stand and one more near the new bus stand. Recommended for stay would be Thiruchirapalli.
