Purandareeswarar Kakkaveri is an east-facing temple with an entrance through a gateway on the south side. The shrines and sanctum sanctorum are situated in a single Prakaram. A stone Dwajasthambam and Nandi Mandapam is in front of an open mandapam. This mandapam is common to the east-facing main deity and the south-facing goddess. There is an Ardha Mandapam in front of both the sanctum sanctorum and goddess shrine. Most of the idols are new. A Vinayaka idol kept on the east side is an old one.
