Shiva Vattur is an east-facing temple situated in a single open prakaram. There is a separate sanctum for Maha Vishnu with his consorts Sreedevi and Bhoodevi on the south side of the Sanctum Sanctorum of the main deity. A stone Dwajasthambam with a carving of Anjaneya, Garuda, Conch, and Disc and a Garuda idol is in front of the Maha Vishnu Sanctum. After this is a shrine with a Shiva Lingam and Nandi facing the deity. This is followed by the shrine of Vinayaka. In front of the sanctum sanctorum of the main deity are a stone Dwajasthambam and Nandi. On the right side of the entrance to the inner Mandapam is the Navagra installation. A Maha Mandapam is common to the sanctum of the main deity and the shrine of the goddess. The sanctum has an Ardha mandapam before it with another Nandi. The main deity is a 2 feet tall idol and the goddess is about 4 feet tall.

Shiva Vattur is an ancient temple as is evident from some of the idols and the fish symbols found on the outer walls of the sanctum sanctorum. Historical information is not available as of now.
