Ekambareswarar Mallur is an east-facing temple situated in a rocky mound that is reached by climbing about 25 steps. There is a beautiful pond on the northeast side in front of the temple. Straight ahead as your each the top is the south-facing separate shrine of goddess Kamakshi Amman. To the right in the east is the Balipeedam and Nandi Mandapam. To the left is the east-facing Sanctum Sanctorum of the main deity with a doorway in the east and an exit on the south side. There is a small Mandapam in front followed by the Ardha Mandapam and the sanctum sanctorum. The single prakaram around the temple is open and the view towards the west and north is very nice. There is a small shrine with Ardhanareeswarar Paadham.
