Muppieswarar Pudhupalayam is an east-facing temple situated in a single open prakaram. The construction of the compound wall was in progress when we visited. A covered corridor open in the sides leads inside towards the Mahamandapam. A beautiful Nandi faces the lord from outside. The Mahamandapam, Ardhamandapam, and Sanctum sanctorum are stone constructions with nice carvings on the outer walls. Another deity is inside facing the main deity. The main deity is a large Shiva Lingam, about 5 feet tall including the base. The Vimaanam on top of the sanctum is large and majestic. The goddess is in a separate shrine facing east on the north side of the sanctum sanctorum. There are some idols carved on panels and kept around including one of Sastha. A stone Dwajasthambam is also outside. On the southeast side of Muppieswarar Pudhupalayam is a small Muruga temple on a hill.
