Pasupatheeswarar Mecheri is an east-facing temple with an entrance through a flight of steps in the east. A single well laid out and spacious Prakaram houses all the shrines and the sanctum sanctorum. The main deity has two Nandis before him, one being ancient. There is another Shiva Lingam and Nandi below the Peepal Tree behind the sanctum sanctorum. The goddess is in a shrine facing south. The small open mandapam before the sanctum sanctorum and shrine of the goddess is common and both of them can be seen from the same spot. There is another entrance from the southwest corner.
