Kailasanadar Venkundram is an east-facing temple with a 3 tiered Rajagopuram at the entrance. There is a large temple pond right opposite and outside the temple. A spacious single Prakaram houses all the shrines and the Sanctum Sanctorum. A large Naagar idol is installed along with Ganesha at the entrance to the Mantapam leading to the Sanctum Sanctorum. A grill (Salaram) is present before the Nandi to see the Lord from outside. There are carvings of Boar, Tortoise, Muruga with peacock, Lizard, fish, and other elements on the walls around the Sanctum Sanctorum.

Kailasanadar Venkundram is an ancient temple as is evident from the construction and some of the idols. There are stone inscriptions on the base of the Sanctum Sanctorum confirming its antiquity.

Kailasanadar Venkundram is about 2.5 kilometers north of Vandavasi. You can reach from inside the town or from the Cheyyar Road. A little ahead is the Hill Temple of Lord Shiva.
