Simhapureeswarar Avaniyapuram is a small east facing temple with an entrance gateway at the east. This old and dilapidated temple was taken up and renovated in recent times. The Amman shrine retains the original stone construction. Rest of the shrines including the sanctum sanctorum have been newly constructed. The Main deity stands about 5 feet in height from the floor.
