Sivakozhuntheeswarar Tiruchendur is a large east-facing temple that is entered from the east through 2 long corridor mandapams, one is a street with shops. The second corridor is shorter and followed by a huge mandapam which leads you into the large and long outer Prakaram. The Sanctum of the main deity is preceded by a Mahamandapam and an Ardha Mandapam. The temple has 2 Prakarams. The goddess shrine is a separate east-facing one. There are many nicely carved pillars in the Mandapams and the one inside the prakaram has Yaalis, idols, warriors, and others carved on its pillars.
