Somanathar Arumuganeri is a small east-facing temple with a single Prakaram. There are 2 entrances, one in the east leading to the sanctum of Lord Shiva and one in the south in front of the goddess. Both entrances have a Mukha mandapam in front. The one before the main deity is the one that is normally open. The temple has been renovated in recent times and is maintained well.
