Kailasanadar Tirunelveli is a small east-facing temple with an entrance gateway mandapam in the east. The temple is situated in 2 Prakarams. The inner prakaram has a circumambulatory path around the sanctum sanctorum of the Lord.

Ramalingaswamy Arungulam is an old temple built by a person called Kurundhu Chettiyar over the grave of a man who cured his stomach ailment. His image is carved in a pillar near the flagstaff. Later another person called Nallakannu Mudaliar did many services to the temple and donated land. His details are inscribed in the northeast side of the temple. Murukesa Mudaliyar built the mandapam in front, the details of this is provided in the mandapam.
Kailasanadar Tirunelveli temple is located in the Sindhu Poonthurai area of Tirunelveli which is connected with the legend of the Nellaiappar Temple and where the Sindhupoonthurai Theertham section of Tamiraparani is located.
Kailasanadar Tirunelveli is located in Kailasapuram of Tirunelveli. This is on the south side of the 2 tiered bridge, close to the bus stand and railway station.
Tirunelveli has many restaurants and hotels. The original Shanti Sweets shop is located on the other side of the bridge outside the railway station.
