Mayuranathar Nambithalaipattayam is a beautiful hill temple. Upon reaching the top the temple is entered through a doorway that takes to the inner Prakaram. The Mahamantapam is large with a Nandi facing the lord. There is a Nandi in the Ardha Mantapam leading to the sanctum sanctorum of the main deity. The goddess shrine is to the north and she is facing south. Both god and goddess can be seen from the same spot. The outer Prakram runs around the high walls of the inner prakaram and is open without a wall.
