Thyagaraja Swamy Edaikal is an east facing temple without a Rajagopuram. Entrance is through a gate in the east which leads into a large and spacious outer Prakaram. On the left is a Peepal and Neem tree growing together with Vinayaka below them. The Balipeedam and Nandi are in front of the entrance to the inner Prakaram which has a small 3 tiered gopuram. The inner Prakaram has a Mahamantapam with 12 beautifully carved large Yali Pillars, followed by the Ardhamantapam, Antrala, and the main deity.
