Kaalainadar Thiruchuzhi has either been in existence from the time of the nearby Thirumaeninadar Temple at Thiruchuzhi or built just after that. This is arrived at from the fact that the Saivite Saint Sundarar (8th Century CE) delivered his Hymns to Thirumaeninadar at Thiruchuzhi from this spot.
Kaalainadar Thiruchuzhi is said to be the spot from where Saint Sundarar sang his hymns for Lord Thirumaeninadar as the Gundar River was in spate and prevented his crossing over.
Kaalainadar Thiruchuzhi is on the east side of Thiruchuzhi Village across the Gundar River. Thiruchuzhi is 32 kilometers east of Virudhunagar via Aruppukottai and 14 kilometers east of Aruppukottai.
None locally. The closest is Aruppukottai where a few restaurants for food and a couple of small hotels for stay are available.
