Kalatheeswarar Elanthiraikondan is a small east-facing temple. The sanctums and the shrines are in an open prakaram. A friendly old retired man lives in the temple and takes care of it. The sanctum of the main deity has a small Maha Mandapam and an Ardha Mandapam. The Goddess shrine is south facing on the north side and before the sanctum of the main deity. Behind the sanctum sanctorum of the main deity is a shrine for Lord Vishnu as Lakshmi Narayana where he is seen seated with goddess Mahalakshmi on his lap. The temple is a beautiful one filled with plants, trees and maintained well.
