Thiruchirukudi is a small temple with a 3 tier Rajagopuram at the entrance. The temple tank is seen in the front. The lord here is said to be made of mud and hence no liquid ablutions are performed and is covered with metal pot.

History

Mythology

Goddess Parvati is believed to have created a Shiva Lingam with a handful of mud here. Chirupidi (small handful) could have transformed to the name of the place Chirukudi.

Thiruchirukudi is about 9 kilometers west of Peralam. Combine with the nearby Thirupamburam temple.
