Thiruppaamburam is a large temple with an elevated floor housing Thirumalai Easwarar. The entrance is through a large 3 tier Rajagopuram. There is a temple tank opposite the Rajagopuram.

History

Thirugnanasambandar (7th Century CE) has rendered Thevaram hymns here.

Mythology

The serpent king Aadhisesha is believed to have worshiped here. Eight major snake gods Aanandan, Vasuki, Dakshan, Karkodagan, Sangabalan, Kuligan, Padman and Mahapadman are also said to have worshiped here.
