Vellai Perumal, Kuthagoundanpalayam is a beautiful east-facing temple situated on an elevated mound. Below the steps leading up is a shrine for the guardian deity Kambathu Veeran. In the prakaram on top is a Dwaajsthambam and a Garuda idol facing the sanctum of the main deity. On either side of the Prakaram in the front side are Vinayaka and Lakshmi Hyagrivar. The Prakaram is well maintained. A Mukha Mandapam with pillars is in front of the Maha Mandapam. An Ardha Mandapam is before the main deity who is seen in a beautiful standing posture with his consorts Sreedevi and Bhoodevi on either side. Below the temple and on the east side is a rock with old carvings of twin Anjaneya.
