Venugopalar Namagiripettai is a beautiful east-facing temple that is combined with a shrine for Goddess Kannika Parameswari and Lord Shiva as Kasi Viswanathar. The entrance to the temple is from the south. A long passage going through a Nandavanam leads inside. There is an installation of Vinayaka and Naagar in this area. First comes the east-facing sanctum of Kannika Prameswari followed by that of Lord Krishna as Venugopala. He is seen with his consorts Rukmini and Satyabhama. All the shrines and the sanctum sanctorum are situated in a single prakaram. On the north side of the prakaram is a very deep temple tank with water only at the bottom. The temple is nicely situated in a backdrop of fields and hills.
