Kariaramar Kottachedu is a beautiful east-facing temple situated amidst wonderful green trees in the middle of the hills of the Shervaroy Range. The location of the temple and the peaceful setting will make you want to just stay there longer. Kariaramar Kochedu is at an altitude of about 1000 meters and the weather is cool. Kariaramar Kottachedu is in a single open Prakaram. There is a stone Dwajasthambam and Garuda in front of the entrance in the east. There is a mandapam in front of the Sanctum Sanctorum of the main deity. The main deity is Karia Ramar, a nearly 6 feet tall idol with a bow in hand, along with Sita and Lakshmana. Kariaramar Kottachedu temple attracts a lot of devotees during festive days. On the road above on the west side is a small shrine with Anjaneya outside and Krishna inside.

Kariaramar Kottachedu is about 35 kilometers northeast of Salem on the way to Yercaud via Ayodyapatnam and Kuppanur. Yercaud is about another 15 kilometers uphill on the same road.
