Vaikuntanatha Perumal Elangadu is a small and ancient temple without a compound wall. The Sanctum Sanctorum is an old one constructed with stone. A tall Dwajasthambam with nice carvings is in the front on the road. The walls of the Sanctum Sanctorum have some carvings too.

Driving on further will take you to Ponnur where a Vaiputhu Sthalam for Lord Shiva and another temple for Perumal is present.
