Varadaraja Perumal Vasavappapuram is a small east facing temple with a single prakaram. A small gate is at the entrance in the east. This is followed by a large covered courtyard with a Dwajasthambam and Balipeedam. The entrance to the prakaram is through a small gateway. A Maha Mandapam and Ardha Mandapam are before the sanctum sanctorum of the main deity.

Varadaraja Perumal Vasavappapuram is about 15 kilometers east of Tirunelveli off the Thoothukudi Road. Take a right at Vasavappapuram after the outskirts of Tirunelveli and before the bridge on the canal, go for about 1.5 kilometers, take a left towards the east and cross the canal to reach Varadaraja Perumal Vasavappapuram.
